Rwandan Broadcasting Agency (RBA) journalist Evelyn Umurerwa has shared an emotional tribute honoring her brother, who was killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Taking to her Instagram account, Umurerwa posted a photo of her late brother, expressing deep sorrow and reflecting on the lasting pain of his loss 32 years later.
She described him as irreplaceable, saying his memory continues to live on in her heart.
“Dear brother, I love you. They took your life, but you will always have a place in my heart. After 32 years, my love for you remains strong and eternal. You are the firstborn of our family, and your memory lives within me every day,” she wrote.
Umurerwa, born on December 14, 1977 to Edward Nsababera and Blandine Mukasekuru, joined RBA in 1998. She has since worked on several programs, including Tele Detente, Tinyuka Urashoboye, Waramutse Rwanda, and news broadcasting in Kinyarwanda.
