Renowned gospel artist Prosper Nkomezi has tied the knot with Retina Nkurunziza in a colourful ceremony that brought together prominent figures and close family members in Kigali.
The couple exchanged vows on March 28, 2026, at Jalia Hall and Garden in Rusororo, where both the traditional introduction and wedding reception were held.
The celebration attracted notable guests, including Edouard Bamporiki, Rwanda Defence Force spokesperson Simon Kabera, gospel singer Dorcas Kamikazi, actress Jeannette Bahavu and her husband Fleury, as well as media personality Reagan Rugaju, among others.
Retina Nkurunziza, a Rwandan based in the United States, has been in a long-term relationship with Nkomezi prior to their marriage. Sources indicate that the singer is preparing to relocate to the U.S. to join his wife, with plans already underway for a series of concerts scheduled for April 2026.
The couple’s journey to marriage began with their engagement on January 13, 2026.
They also share a gospel song titled “The Beginning of Forever,” symbolizing their faith and commitment as they begin their new life together.
Nkomezi is widely known for hit gospel songs such as Yanyishyuriye, Urarinzwe, and Ibasha Gukora, which have earned him a strong following in Rwanda’s gospel music scene.
