Construction of modern residential apartments under the Sahara Residence project is set to reshape Kigali’s urban housing landscape, following the laying of a foundation stone for a development expected to comprise more than 110 residential and commercial units.

The ceremony took place in Kimihurura Sector, where the project will be developed, and brought together stakeholders including the Director General of the Rwanda Housing Authority (RHA), Alphonse Rukaburandekwe.

Rukaburandekwe commended Prime Gate Developers for spearheading the initiative, noting that it aligns with national efforts to expand access to quality and affordable housing for Rwandans.

He reaffirmed the government’s readiness to support private investors engaged in the housing sector, stressing the importance of public-private collaboration in addressing the country’s growing urban housing demand.

“We need more investors like Prime Gate Developers who are implementing large-scale housing projects because, under the Second National Strategy for Transformation (NST2), we are required to develop over 500,000 housing units,” he said.

He emphasized that the Rwanda Housing Authority remains committed to working closely with investors to ensure the delivery of decent, durable housing in line with urban planning standards.

The development will feature a G+12 structure comprising 111 units designed for both residential and commercial use.

The apartments, described as super deluxe units, will include one- and two-bedroom options ranging from 60 to 119 square meters. Planned amenities include a swimming pool, gym, restaurant, and a dedicated commercial area.
