Rwanda’s Police VC, Kepler VC and REG VC have advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 African Men’s Club Volleyball Championship, while APR VC has been knocked out of the tournament underway in Kigali.
The trio secured their spots following impressive Round of 16 victories played at BK Arena on Wednesday, contrasting sharply with APR VC’s early exit.
REG VC led the charge with a commanding 3-0 win over Uganda’s Sports-S. Unbeaten Police VC maintained their dominant run, brushing aside Nigeria Customs Service 3-0 to progress.
Kepler VC completed Rwanda’s strong showing, defeating Kenya’s General Service Unit 3-1 after rallying from a first-set loss.
APR VC, however, endured a disappointing outing, falling 3-0 to Morocco’s Faith Union of Rabat, ending their campaign in the 47th edition of the continental showpiece.
The quarterfinals, scheduled for Thursday, will feature an all-Rwandan showdown between Police VC and Kepler VC—guaranteeing Rwanda a semifinal berth.
REG VC will face Kenya Ports Authority, which eliminated Uganda’s Nemo Stars 3-1 to book its place in the last eight.
A win for REG VC would set up an all-Rwandan semifinal, effectively securing the country a historic place in the final for the first time in the competition’s history.
Since the tournament tipped off on April 22, Rwanda’s representatives have delivered strong performances, with three of the four teams advancing to the last eight from a field of 24.
The championship—being hosted in Rwanda for the first time—is set to conclude on May 3, 2026.
