Minister in charge of Emergency Management Albert Murasira has praised the growing partnership between Rwanda and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), citing its role in advancing humanitarian and migration programmes.

The remarks were made on Wednesday during a meeting with IOM Country Director Carl Ash, who is concluding his tenure in the country.

The two officials reviewed ongoing cooperation in key areas, including disaster management, sustainable reintegration of returnees, facilitation of refugee movements, and implementation of international migration frameworks.

Murasira acknowledged IOM’s contribution to progress made so far and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to deepening collaboration on current and future initiatives.

The meeting also served as a formal farewell to Ash, marking the end of his diplomatic mission in Rwanda.
