Al Hilal SC of Sudan have been crowned champions of the Rwanda Premier League 2025/2026 season with three matches still to play, following a commanding campaign that saw them open a 14-point gap over APR FC.

The title was confirmed after Al Hilal secured a 2-1 victory over Gasogi United in Matchday 33 of the BK Pro League, played at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The result took them to 73 points, sealing the championship mathematically.

Al Hilal SC and their compatriots Al Merrikh SC were admitted into the Rwandan league this season as guest teams after being granted special approval due to security challenges in Sudan, which disrupted domestic football competitions.

Since joining the league, both sides have made a strong impact, with Al Hilal in particular dominating the competition and consistently occupying the top of the table.

Al Hilal have played 31 matches out of 34, recording 23 wins, 4 draws, and 4 defeats, a run that ensured an early confirmation of the league title.

Their only defeats came against Al Merrikh SC (2-1), Kiyovu Sports (1-0), Mukura VS (3-1), and Rutsiro FC (2-1).

The Sudanese champions also drew four matches, including two encounters with Marine FC, who remain unbeaten against them this season, as well as draws against Rayon Sports (1-1) and Police FC (0-0).

Al Hilal still have three fixtures remaining against Al Merrikh SC, Police FC, and Etincelles FC.

Al Merrikh SC, currently third on the table, could climb to second place depending on results in their remaining fixtures, while APR FC remain the highest-ranked Rwandan club in the standings.

The 2025/2026 BK Pro League season has been marked by the unprecedented participation of guest clubs, adding competitiveness and raising the overall level of the championship.
