Rayon Sports FC has begun strengthening its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season and the upcoming CECAFA Kagame Cup, unveiling midfielder Ndayishimiye Didier as its first signing of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old joins from AS Kigali, where he spent the last three seasons after moving from Heroes FC in 2023. Comfortable in midfield and defence, Ndayishimiye is regarded as one of the promising young talents in the domestic game.

He has previously represented Rwanda at U17 and U20 levels and has also earned a call-up to the national team of locally based players preparing for the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Rayon Sports had earlier fuelled speculation about the move through a social media teaser that appeared to suggest the player had rejected interest from rivals APR FC in favour of joining the Blues.

The Kigali-based club is expected to remain active in the transfer market as it seeks to build a younger and more competitive squad under head coach Francis Haringingo.

Among the local players linked with a move to Rayon Sports are Bugesera FC forward Byishimo Valua, Mukura Victory Sports midfielder Nisingizwe Christian and Etoile de l’Est attacker Muhoza Daniel, all of whom impressed during the 2025/26 campaign.

The club is also reportedly monitoring left-back Ishimwe Christian and goalkeeper Ndikuriyo Patient, both formerly of Police FC, as well as Mukura VS defender Hakizimana Zuberi.

Beyond the domestic market, Rayon Sports is said to be exploring options abroad. Ugandan midfielder Elvis Ngonde, who recently featured for Villa SC, is among the foreign players reportedly under consideration.

The club’s early transfer activity signals its determination to mount a stronger challenge for domestic honours and regional success next season after falling short of major silverware in the recently concluded campaign.
