Rayon Sports has confirmed plans to strengthen its squad with new signings, targeting a goalkeeper, a foreign midfielder, and a prolific striker as part of preparations for the 2026/27 season.

The update was announced on June 24, 2026, by Association Rayon Sports President Murenzi Abdallah during a press briefing held after the club renewed its sponsorship agreement with Skol.

Murenzi said the club is actively working to reinforce key positions despite having two goalkeepers, Drissa Kouyate and Mugisha Yves, noting that talks are ongoing with experienced shot-stopper Kwizera Olivier, whose contract has expired.

He explained that the club is also looking to add a foreign midfielder to complement existing local options, as well as a strong striker expected to boost the team’s attacking power and title ambitions.

Murenzi further confirmed discussions with Mukura VS&L over two promising wingers, Hakizimana Zubeir and Iradukunda Elie Tatou, as part of ongoing negotiations in the transfer market.

So far, Rayon Sports has signed eight new players, including three foreign recruits—Antonio Atisso Kodjo, Charles Tchouplaou, and Matumona Wakonda—and five domestic players: Ndayishimiye Didier, Nshuti Didier, Nisingizwe Christian, Nkundimana Fabio, and Nizeyimana Moubarak.

The club leadership said the recruitment drive is already more than 80 percent complete as Rayon Sports shapes its squad for the upcoming season.

Rayon Sports will resume training on June 29, 2026, as preparations continue for pre-season activities, including the Rayon Day event and the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
