A brigade of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) ground forces has completed a five-month advanced military training programme aimed at enhancing soldiers’ operational skills, professionalism and readiness to respond to security challenges.

The training, conducted at the RDF Military Training Centre in Gabiro, Gatsibo District, focused on strengthening soldiers’ knowledge, tactical abilities and capacity to effectively carry out their duties.

The graduation ceremony was presided over by RDF Chief of Defence Staff Gen. MK Mubarakh, representing President Paul Kagame, who serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.

Gen. Mubarakh praised the newly trained soldiers for their discipline, commitment and resilience throughout the programme, urging them to uphold professionalism and continue striving for excellence in their service.

He said military training plays a critical role in preparing soldiers to operate under demanding conditions while developing the physical, mental and professional capabilities required to fulfil their responsibilities.

The RDF chief reminded the graduates to maintain discipline, embrace innovation and use available resources effectively as they execute their missions.

He also commended the leadership and instructors at the Gabiro Military Training Centre for their contribution to strengthening the skills and capabilities of Rwanda’s armed forces.

Gen. Mubarakh said continued investment in military training remains essential in developing competent soldiers and leaders capable of serving the RDF and the country with dedication.
