Gorilla FC have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season with the signing of goalkeeper Cuzuzo Aimé Gaël from Gasogi United.
The club announced on Monday that the experienced shot-stopper had signed a two-year contract, becoming the latest addition to a team undergoing major changes following the departure of two goalkeepers from last season, Muhawenayo Gad and Ntagisanayo Serge.
Cuzuzo brings extensive experience in Rwanda’s top flight, having joined Gasogi United in 2017 and played a key role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League. He later renewed his contract in 2021 before leaving the club in 2023 to join AS Kigali.
He returned to Gasogi United last season after the club lost Cameroonian goalkeeper Ibrahima Dauda Baleri, who moved to Bugesera FC. After one season back at the club, Cuzuzo has now made the switch to Gorilla FC.
The goalkeeper is expected to add competition and experience to Gorilla FC’s squad as the team continues preparations for the new campaign.
Gorilla FC have been active in the transfer market as they aim to assemble a stronger squad, with new arrivals including striker Sunday Akang Inemesit from AS Kigali, defender Issah Yakubu from Police FC, Oreko Salomon, striker Faradji Iddi from Etoile de l’Est and Chancelor Mengue Ndong, who extended his contract until 2028.
The club has also reinforced its technical staff, appointing Mazimpaka Andre as goalkeeper coach and bringing in Umwungeri Patrick as assistant coach.
