Miss Kayumba Darina, the second runner-up in Miss Rwanda 2022, has revealed that she has produced a short film about President Paul Kagame, which is expected to be released in the coming days.
Darina made the revelation on Monday, August 25, 2026, during an interaction with Kagame, where she spoke about the role of young creatives in telling Rwanda’s story.
The content creator praised the country’s leadership and the opportunities available to young people to contribute to national development through creativity and storytelling.
“As a Rwandan content creator, I greatly appreciate your leadership and the transformation Rwanda continues to experience,” Darina told Kagame, adding that young creatives are inspired by the country’s direction and opportunities to contribute to its future.
She then disclosed that she had completed a short film about the President and asked him to watch it once it is released.
Kagame responded that he was looking forward to watching the film.
The announcement places Darina among a growing number of young Rwandan creatives using film and digital content to document and interpret aspects of the country’s leadership and development.
Darina rose to prominence after finishing as second runner-up to Nshuti Muheto Divine, who won the Miss Rwanda 2022 crown.
