RwandAir has been named Best Airline Staff in Africa 2026 at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, recognising the quality of service provided by its employees to passengers.
The award was presented at the Skytrax World Airline Awards ceremony in London on September 18, 2026, where RwandAir was recognised for the standard of service delivered by its staff both at airports and on board its aircraft.
Skytrax says the award category evaluates the service provided by frontline airline employees, including airport and cabin crew.
RwandAir ranked ahead of EgyptAir, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and South African Airways. Royal Air Maroc, Air Mauritius, Airlink, Cabo Verde Airlines and TAAG Angola Airlines rounded out the top 10 airlines in Africa.
RwandAir Chief Executive Officer Yvonne Manzi Makolo said the award was a recognition of the airline’s employees and their commitment to delivering high-quality service.
“This award belongs to our people. Their dedication, professionalism and commitment to our customers are what make RwandAir’s promise of service excellence a reality every day,” Makolo said.
RwandAir employs more than 2,300 people and says it continues to invest in staff development and training through programmes including the RISE Graduate Development Programme and the RwandAir Cadet Pilot Programme.
According to Skytrax, the World Airline Awards are based on a global passenger survey. The 2026 survey ran from September 2025 to August 2026 and collected responses from travellers in more than 100 countries, covering more than 300 airlines.
The latest honour adds to RwandAir’s growing list of industry awards. In 2025, the airline was named Best Regional Airline in Africa, while in 2022 it won awards including Best Airline Staff in Africa, Best Cabin Crew in Africa and Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness in Africa.
Ethiopian Airlines was named Best Airline in Africa for 2026, while RwandAir ranked fifth in the overall African airline rankings.
