Rayon Sports have reported Mozambique’s Black Bulls to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over difficulties the Rwandan club encountered while preparing for their CAF Confederation Cup return-leg match.

Rayon Sports president Murenzi Abdallah confirmed that the club had written to CAF to report the challenges experienced in Mozambique ahead of Saturday’s match, scheduled for October 24, 2026, at Estádio da Matola.

The team encountered difficulties on the evening of October 22 when it was due to train at the stadium but could not secure timely transportation from its hotel.

According to the club’s account, attempts to contact Black Bulls officials for assistance proved difficult. Some people contacted said they were going to pray, while language differences also complicated communication, with some officials speaking Portuguese and the Rwandan delegation communicating in English.

The difficulties prompted Rayon Sports to suspect that the situation might have been deliberate, although no independent confirmation of that allegation was provided.

Unable to secure the expected transport, the Rwandan club hired private vehicles to take its players to the training venue.

Despite the setback, Murenzi urged Rayon Sports supporters to remain confident, saying the team had the ability to overturn the first-leg result.

He expressed confidence that Rayon Sports could score at least two goals to secure qualification for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Rayon Sports last featured in the competition’s group stage in 2018, when they made history by reaching the quarter-finals.

The club now hopes to return to the group stage for the first time in eight years, with Saturday’s match against Black Bulls presenting an important opportunity to revive its continental campaign.
