Etincelles FC have parted ways with their head coach, Bizimana Abdu, popularly known as Bekeni, following a poor run of results in Rwanda’s 2026/2027 BK Pro League season.
Bekeni leaves the club with Etincelles sitting 16th in the league table on seven points after seven matches. The team has suffered four defeats, recorded two wins and drawn once.
The defeats include a 2-0 loss to Bugesera FC, a 4-0 defeat against Marine FC, a 2-0 loss to APR FC and, most recently, a 1-0 defeat to Kiyovu Sports.
Etincelles have scored just two goals and conceded nine in their seven league matches, highlighting the team’s struggles in the current campaign.
This is not the first time Bekeni has left the club. On February 3, 2026, Etincelles reappointed him as interim head coach after parting ways with Masudi Djuma and his assistants.
He took charge following Djuma’s departure over poor results, with the task of helping the team recover from a difficult spell. Under his leadership, Etincelles finished the 2025/2026 season in 14th place with 37 points.
Bekeni had also been linked with a return to the head coach position in December 2021 after the club parted ways with Habimana Sosthène. In March 2022, Etincelles management suspended him again following a poor run of results, including a 2-1 defeat to Gorilla FC.
His latest departure comes only months after his return, as Etincelles look to turn around their disappointing start to the season.
