President Paul Kagame, the Commander-in-Chief of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), has appointed Brig Gen Godfrey Gasana as the Presidential Pilot, the RDF announced on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
In addition to his new role, Brig Gen Gasana will also serve as an Advisor to the Minister of Defence on matters related to the operational effectiveness of the Rwanda Air Force.
The RDF statement further announced the appointment of Col Dan Gatsinzi as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force in charge of Operations.
According to the statement, both appointments take immediate effect.
