A tragic accident in the central town of Nyanza District claimed the life of a motorcycle passenger after a hospital ambulance collided with their vehicle.
The incident occurred in the morning in Busasamana Sector, Nyanza, when the deceased had hired the motorcycle to travel to his workplace at Ecole des Sciences Saint Louis de Montfort Nyanza.
As they navigated the main road toward Christ the King Church, the motorcycle was struck by a Nyanza hospital ambulance exiting the church road. The passenger was thrown from the bike and died instantly, while the motorcyclist sustained injuries but survived. Eyewitnesses confirmed the sequence of events to UMUNOTA.COM.
Police are still investigating the accident, with local spokespersons yet to release further details.
The victim leaves behind a wife and children and was a resident of Nyanza Cell in Busasamana Sector.
