The Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) has temporarily suspended services previously offered at its headquarters, transitioning key operations to digital platforms.

In a public notice, the institution said clients will no longer access services in person at its offices for the time being.

“REMA informs all clients that services previously provided at its offices are temporarily suspended,” the statement read.

The agency added that all services will continue to be delivered by designated staff through online systems, assuring continuity despite the operational shift.

However, REMA did not specify when in-person services will resume, urging the public to rely on digital channels for all service requests.

REMA is responsible for a wide range of environmental services, including environmental impact assessments, import permits for used motorcycles, carbon market-related approvals, and regulation of environmentally friendly gases, among others.
