Rwanda’s Minister of Public Service and Labour Christine Nkulikiyinka held high-level talks with Comoros President Azali Assoumani as the two countries seek to further strengthen diplomatic and development cooperation.

The meeting took place on May 8, 2026, during Minister Nkulikiyinka’s official visit to Comoros aimed at reinforcing relations between Kigali and Moroni.

Discussions focused on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and enhancing regional collaboration to support sustainable development and improve the welfare of citizens in both countries.

During the meeting, Minister Nkulikiyinka also delivered a message from President Paul Kagame reaffirming Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening friendship, cooperation and mutual respect with Comoros.

Rwanda and Comoros have continued to deepen bilateral ties through diplomatic engagement and development partnerships, with both countries increasingly collaborating in areas of common interest.

In June 2023, Rwanda Cooperation signed a cooperation agreement with Comoros’ international cooperation agency to promote knowledge sharing and South-South cooperation in development initiatives.

Officials from both countries have also maintained regular engagement at regional and international forums, reflecting growing ties between Kigali and Moroni.
