Ambassador Christine Nkulikiyinka has officially handed over responsibilities to Judith Uwizeye, the new Minister of Public Service and Labour (Mifotra), during a ceremony held at the ministry headquarters.
The handover took place on Monday, June 15, 2026.
In her remarks, Amb. Nkulikiyinka called on staff to maintain a strong culture of dedication to public service, emphasizing integrity, transparency, and citizen-centred service delivery.
Minister Uwizeye thanked her predecessor for her contribution to strengthening public service delivery, advancing job creation initiatives, and supporting reforms aimed at improving citizens’ welfare.
She pledged to build on ongoing reforms by enhancing the quality of public services, reinforcing employment creation programmes, and further improving service delivery systems for citizens.
Uwizeye was appointed Minister of Public Service and Labour by President Paul Kagame in a cabinet reshuffle announced on June 10, 2026. She previously served in the Office of the President from July 2025 and earlier held the same ministerial portfolio between 2014 and 2017.
Amb. Nkulikiyinka has been appointed Rwanda’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.
