Rwanda generated more than Rwf 13 billion from agricultural exports within a five-day period, driven by strong performance in tea, coffee, and a growing basket of diversified products, according to the National Agricultural Export Development Board (National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB)).
The earnings were recorded between June 22 and June 26, 2026, highlighting continued momentum in the country’s agriculture export sector.
Tea and coffee remain top foreign exchange earners
Tea and coffee continued to anchor Rwanda’s export revenues.
Tea exports reached 846 tonnes, generating Rwf 3.5 billion, while coffee exports totaled 362 tonnes, earning Rwf 3.2 billion over the five-day period.
Growing diversification of export products
Beyond traditional cash crops, Rwanda exported a wider range of agricultural products across global markets.
Vegetable exports stood at 511 tonnes, earning Rwf 854 million, with key destinations including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, and several African countries.
Fruit exports totaled 380 tonnes and generated Rwf 368 million, mainly shipped to the United Arab Emirates and regional African markets.
Flower exports amounted to 10 tonnes, earning Rwf 91 million, with the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and African countries among the main destinations.
Other agricultural commodities dominated in volume, with 6,731 tonnes exported, generating Rwf 4.7 billion. These shipments were mainly directed to markets in the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, France, Oman, the United States, and Africa.
Livestock products contribute to export growth
Livestock-related exports reached 376 tonnes, generating Rwf 1.2 billion, with most products supplied to African markets.
Officials say the performance reflects Rwanda’s ongoing efforts to expand export volumes, strengthen value addition, and diversify markets for agricultural products.
