APR FC has completed the signing of midfielder Mamadou Traoré and goalkeeper Ernan Siluane as the Rwanda Premier League champions continue to reinforce their squad ahead of the new season.
The club confirmed that both players have already arrived in Kigali, where they finalised their contracts and were officially unveiled as new signings.
Traoré joins APR FC from Stade Malien in Mali, where he previously captained the side and played a key role in their run to the CAF Champions League quarter-finals. He is expected to strengthen APR FC’s midfield with experience and leadership, and will wear jersey number 21.
Goalkeeper Ernan Siluane, 27, arrives from Black Bulls FC in Mozambique. A current international with the Mozambique national team, he joins to add depth and competition in the goalkeeping department and will wear jersey number 31.
Squad rebuilding continues
The two arrivals form part of APR FC’s ongoing squad overhaul ahead of a busy season that includes domestic competitions and regional assignments.
The club has also confirmed the contract extension of right-back Byiringiro Jean Gilbert, who has signed a new deal running until 2029.
Major changes at the club
APR FC’s recruitment drive has been accompanied by significant departures, including former captain Niyomugabo Claude and several foreign players as part of a broader restructuring process.
Other players who have left the club include Ishimwe Pierre, Niyigena Clement, Mugisha Gilbert, Ruboneka Jean Bosco, and Niyibizi Ramadhan.
APR FC, fresh from winning the Rwanda Premier League and domestic cup competitions, is now preparing for the CECAFA Kagame Cup, which will be hosted in Rwanda from July 24 to August 8, 2026, as well as other upcoming challenges.
