Kenyan football giants Gor Mahia FC have arrived in Kigali ahead of their much-anticipated friendly match against Rayon Sports as part of the club’s annual Rayon Day celebrations.

The two sides will face off on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Kigali Pele Stadium, where Rayon Sports are expected to celebrate their fans and mark another milestone in the club’s history.

Gor Mahia’s first delegation arrived at Kigali International Airport in Kanombe on Thursday afternoon, July 16, with the club confirming that the travelling squad was split into two groups. The second contingent was scheduled to leave Kenya later on Thursday evening.

The reigning Kenyan champions are not only in Rwanda for the Rayon Day fixture but will also use their stay to prepare for the upcoming CECAFA Kagame Cup, scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 7, 2026, in Rwanda.

Gor Mahia will compete in Group A of the regional tournament alongside Rwanda’s APR FC, Uganda’s Vipers SC, and Djibouti’s Garde Républicaine.

Rayon Sports, meanwhile, are intensifying preparations for the highly anticipated event and have already welcomed new signing Junior Kameni, who arrived in Rwanda early Thursday morning.

The club has also confirmed that popular Rwandan artists Bull Dogg and Kitoko will headline the entertainment programme during Rayon Day, adding a music spectacle to what is expected to be a major football celebration.
