Patriots BBC, APR BBC, REG BBC, and RSSB Tigers have booked their places in the playoffs that will decide the 2026 Rwanda Basketball Championship winner, while AZOMCO BBC and Inspired Generation have been relegated to the second division.
The final stretch of the regular season produced key results that confirmed the four playoff contenders, although the final standings remain undecided with one game left to play.
REG BBC defeated RSSB Tigers 102-86 on Friday, while Patriots BBC claimed a narrow 69-67 victory over APR BBC. On Sunday, Kepler BBC beat AZOMCO 100-87, and RSSB Tigers responded with a 93-78 win over UGB.
The remaining regular-season fixture will see RSSB Tigers face APR BBC on Friday, July 24, at Petit Stade in Remera. The outcome will determine the final league positions and playoff matchups.
Patriots BBC currently lead the standings with 29 points, followed by APR BBC on 28 points. A victory for APR BBC in their final game would move them to the top of the table. REG BBC sit third with 27 points, while RSSB Tigers are fourth with 26 points and need a win against APR BBC to overtake REG BBC.
Kepler BBC have secured fifth place with 23 points, level with sixth-placed UGB. EAUR BBC are seventh with 22 points, AZOMCO BBC eighth with 19 points, and Inspired Generation finished ninth with 16 points.
AZOMCO BBC, who spent two seasons in the top division, and Inspired Generation, who had one season in the league, will drop to the second tier.
The second-division playoffs, which will determine the two teams promoted to the top flight next season, begin on Tuesday. The opening fixtures will see Kicukiro Buckets face VJN Ujamaa, Keplerian take on Kigali Elite, Intare meet Espoir, and UR Kigali play Elite BBC.
