Rwanda’s ruling Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi) has adopted a set of resolutions aimed at strengthening resilience, promoting self-reliance and accelerating innovation, following a meeting of its Political Bureau chaired by President Paul Kagame.
The meeting, held on July 17 at the party’s headquarters in Rusororo, Gasabo District, reviewed the country’s development agenda and the party’s priorities for governance, youth empowerment and national resilience.
In his address, Kagame said the meeting was an opportunity to assess progress based on measurable results, identify home-grown solutions to national challenges and reinforce individual responsibility in shaping Rwanda’s future.
He said the RPF’s guiding principles remain focused on finding solutions to the country’s challenges while advancing self-reliance, national dignity and a resilient Rwanda in which every citizen feels included.
Kagame also urged leaders at all levels to strengthen accountability, work closely with citizens to address their concerns and improve public service delivery.
Addressing young people, he called on them to prepare for greater leadership roles by investing in education, good health and strong values, while avoiding destructive behaviours such as drug abuse, excessive alcohol consumption and idleness.
On regional affairs, Kagame said security challenges in the Great Lakes region should be addressed through dialogue and by tackling their root causes, rather than attributing them to Rwanda.
The Political Bureau adopted resolutions committing the party to preserve gains in national unity and citizen-centred governance, expand innovation and home-grown solutions, strengthen resilience to external shocks, and promote youth participation in national development and leadership.
The resolutions also call for greater investment in skills development and entrepreneurship among young people, while reinforcing internal accountability and performance within the party through regular, results-based evaluation.
The resolutions reaffirm the RPF’s focus on resilience, self-reliance and innovation as central pillars of its political and development agenda.
