A total of 146 Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) personnel have completed a seven-week Military Police training programme conducted in partnership with the Qatar Armed Forces.
The graduation ceremony took place on August 11, 2026, at the Rwanda Military Academy in Gako and was presided over by RDF Chief of Defence Staff Gen MK Mubarakh.
The ceremony was attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Rwanda, Mansoor Ali Al-Hajri, senior Qatari military officials, and senior RDF officers.
The training covered key Military Police operations, including VIP protection, counterterrorism, operations in built-up areas and riot-control operations.
In a message delivered on behalf of Rwanda’s Commander-in-Chief, Gen Mubarakh congratulated the graduates and commended them for their commitment, discipline and hard work throughout the training.
He said the programme had strengthened the professionalism and operational capabilities of the RDF Military Police, urging the graduates to apply the skills they acquired and share their knowledge with colleagues.
Gen Mubarakh also commended the Qatari instructors for their professionalism and contribution to the programme, describing the training as another milestone in the growing cooperation between the RDF and Qatar Armed Forces.
He reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening the partnership through military training, professional exchanges and other areas of mutual interest.
A representative of the Qatar Armed Forces thanked the RDF leadership for its support and facilitation throughout the training, saying the strong cooperation between the two forces contributed to the successful completion of the programme.
