Rwanda midfielder Samuel Gueulette joins Romanian top-flight club UTA Arad

Rwanda international midfielder Samuel Gueulette has joined Romanian top-flight side UTA Arad after leaving Belgian club RAAL La Louvière.

The 26-year-old was officially unveiled as a new UTA Arad player after spending five years with RAAL La Louvière.

Gueulette made 142 appearances for the Belgian club, scoring seven goals and providing one assist before completing his move to Romania.

The midfielder has been called up 12 times to the Rwanda national team, the Amavubi.

UTA Arad compete in Romania’s top division and play their home matches at the 11,500-capacity Francisc von Neuman Stadium.

The club, founded in 1945, are currently 14th in the 16-team Romanian top flight after seven rounds.

RAAL La Louvière paid tribute to Gueulette following his departure, thanking the midfielder for his contribution during his five-year spell at the club.

The move gives Gueulette an opportunity to continue his career in a new league while competing at the highest level of Romanian football.
