Rwanda and Nepal have signed a General Cooperation Agreement aimed at providing a framework for strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement was signed following talks between Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, and his Nepalese counterpart, Shisir Khanal.
Rwanda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on X that the two officials had signed a “General Cooperation Agreement.”
Such agreements provide a framework for cooperation across a range of areas, including development, trade and investment, education, technology, culture, knowledge and experience sharing, and people-to-people exchanges.
Nepal is a South Asian country located between India and China. Its capital is Kathmandu, and the country is known for the Himalayan mountain range, including Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain.
The country has a long-standing tourism sector, particularly in mountain trekking and climbing, as well as a rich cultural and historical heritage that attracts visitors from around the world.
Rwanda has continued to expand its diplomatic and economic relations with countries around the world through agreements and partnerships focused on trade, investment, technology, education and other areas.
For Nepal, the agreement provides a new framework for strengthening relations with Rwanda and exploring opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The signing marks a new step in relations between the two countries as they seek to expand cooperation in development and other areas of shared interest.
