Rwanda’s national football team, Amavubi, has been ranked 39th among the 54 national teams in Africa in terms of the estimated market value of their players, according to Transfermarkt.
Amavubi are valued at €6 million, equivalent to more than RWF 10 billion based on current exchange rates.
Transfermarkt lists Joy-Lance Mickels, who plays for Azerbaijan club Sabah FK, as the most valuable player in the Rwanda national team. Sabah FK is competing in the UEFA Champions League.
However, Transfermarkt does not list market values for several Amavubi players, including Adolphe Hakizimana, Clement Niyigena, Jean Gilbert Byiringiro, Darryl Nkulikiyimana, Obed Uwumukiza and Elie Tatou Iradukunda.
Among the players whose values are listed, Claude Niyomugabo, Gilbert Mugisha and Joy-Slayd Mickels are among the least valuable, with each estimated at €100,000, equivalent to more than RWF 150 million.
At the top of the continental ranking is Morocco, whose national team is valued at €580 million.
Djibouti is ranked at the bottom of the list with a squad value of €575,000.
The Transfermarkt figures represent estimated player market values and can change depending on factors such as a player’s performances, age, contract situation and demand in the transfer market.
