Gisagara VC has announced the signing of Tanzanian outside hitter Omary Bure Hassan and setter Masezerano Jean Claude.

The club confirmed the two signings on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Bure has signed a three-year contract after leaving EAUR VC, while Masezerano joins from Kigali VC (KVC) on a one-year deal after his previous contract expired.

Bure replaces Ugandan outside hitter Allan Ejiet Olokotum, who recently left Gisagara VC. Masezerano, meanwhile, takes the place of setter Ngaboyintwari Cedrick, who has also departed the club and is yet to announce his next destination.

Bure made a strong impression during his time with EAUR VC, which contributed to Gisagara VC’s decision to sign him. He also played against the club during this year’s GMT tournament.

Masezerano is joining Gisagara VC for the first time. He is also the brother of the club’s head coach, Kwizera Pierre Marchal.

Gisagara VC has also reached agreements with South Sudanese opposite hitter James Achuil and middle blocker Rukundo Bienvenue, although the club had not officially announced those signings at the time of publication.

Achuil has agreed to a two-year contract after leaving EAUR VC, while Rukundo joins from REG VC.

The new signings are part of Gisagara VC’s efforts to strengthen its squad and challenge for major honours again.

The club last won the national championship in 2023 and subsequently spent two seasons without reaching the playoffs.

In the 2025/26 season, Gisagara returned to the playoffs after finishing the regular season at the top of the standings. However, its title hopes ended in the semi-finals, before the team also lost the third-place match.
