Rwandan singer Bruce Melodie has responded to Yago after the latter criticised his latest song, “Irya 4,” arguing that some of its messages could mislead listeners.

Yago had expressed concerns about the content of the song, saying some of the advice Bruce Melodie gives could have negative consequences for people who take the messages literally.

Bruce Melodie, who had remained largely quiet about the criticism, responded calmly, explaining that some of the principles presented in “Irya 4” are not intended to apply to everyone, but rather depend on an individual’s circumstances and lifestyle.

In his response, Bruce Melodie said: “The first rule does not apply to a ‘Nzanga’; you cannot ask someone who is already a ‘Nzanga’ to learn how to become one. The second rule does not apply to an ‘Injajwa’; you cannot ask an ‘Injajwa’ to keep a secret.”

The exchange has renewed interest in “Irya 4,” which was released on September 25, 2026.

The song has continued to attract significant attention since its release, surpassing one million views on YouTube within six days.

The discussion between the two artists has also generated further public interest in the meaning and messages behind the song, particularly the interpretation of the advice contained in its lyrics.
