Rwandan singer Itahiwacu Bruce, popularly known as Bruce Melodie, has denied filing the complaint that led YouTube to issue strikes against Yago TV Show, saying he has no interest in depriving another person of their livelihood despite being unhappy with comments made about him.

Bruce Melodie said the dispute stemmed from the use of songs from his album Colorful Generation in videos he considered defamatory.

He explained that an American company had purchased the album and was responsible for handling issues related to the use of its copyrighted content.

“It was our team. I was not the one who did it because I gain nothing from seeing someone unable to earn a living. However, I was not happy with what he was doing, although I would not have taken it this far. He also went too far. Others can learn from this to respect the family,” Bruce Melodie said.

The singer told IGIHE that although he disliked Yago’s comments about him, he had not wanted the dispute to escalate to the point where the YouTuber could lose his source of income.

Bruce Melodie said he had advised Yago to apologise as a possible way to resolve the dispute. He added that he could help facilitate a resolution if Yago contacted the company that filed the complaint.

“I saw that he was being stubborn. He has not even approached me to see how the matter could be resolved. He could write an email to the people who filed the complaint. If they came back to me, I could also help him find a solution. But if he chooses not to do that, there is nothing else I can do. The people who bought the album are handling the matter and helping me market the remaining music,” he said.

The remarks follow Yago’s announcement on October 15, 2026, that YouTube had issued three strikes against his channel over complaints relating to videos featuring Bruce Melodie and other content in which he discussed the singer.

Yago said he had been given eight days to resolve the matter before his channel, Yago TV Show, risked being deleted.

Following the notices, Yago said he had decided to delete all videos featuring Bruce Melodie, as well as other videos he had made about the singer.

On October 16, however, Yago indicated that he was unwilling to apologise, saying instead that he would retaliate and was prepared to confront the singer.
