Rwandan Prime Minister Dr Justin Nsengiyumva attended a reception hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin for leaders participating in the third Russia-Africa Summit, taking place in Moscow from October 28 to 29, 2026.

Nsengiyumva is in Russia representing President Paul Kagame at the summit, which opened on October 28 and is scheduled to conclude on October 29.

The Office of the Prime Minister said Nsengiyumva attended the reception and also addressed young people participating in the Russia-Africa Youth Forum held at MGIMO University.

During the forum, he highlighted Rwanda’s development journey and emphasised the role of young people in promoting unity and building sustainable development.

Nsengiyumva arrived in Moscow on the evening of October 27, 2026, where he was received by Russian officials.

The Russia-Africa Summit aims to strengthen and expand cooperation between Russia and African countries, particularly in the areas of economic development, trade, investment, energy, agriculture, healthcare and technology.

Leaders and other participants are also discussing opportunities for collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), nuclear technology, research, and skills development.

The summit is being held for the third time, following previous meetings aimed at strengthening Russia-Africa relations. The first summit took place in Sochi, Russia, in 2019, while the second was held in Saint Petersburg in 2023.

The meeting provides a platform for both sides to explore ways to deepen cooperation and advance their shared interests.
