ArtRwanda-Ubuhanzi is continuing its search for talented young people across different artistic disciplines, with 100 shortlisted participants presenting their projects to a panel of judges in five categories.

The competition, now in its fourth edition, is organised by Imbuto Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Arts Development. It aims to identify emerging talent, help participants refine their projects and promote the growth of Rwanda’s creative industry.

The shortlisted participants began presenting their work on October 14, 2026, after submitting their projects online. Twenty contestants were selected in each category to showcase their abilities before the judges.

On Friday, October 16, it was the turn of contestants in the music category to present their talents and projects at Maison des Jeunes in Kimisagara.

Of the 100 participants competing across the five categories, 10 from each category will be selected to attend a boot camp where they will further develop their projects before the overall national winners are announced.

The music category’s judging panel includes Uwase Christiane Boukuru, winner of the singing category in the ArtRwanda-Ubuhanzi All Stars Edition; singer Igor Mabano, who studied at the Rwanda School of Music; and Philippe Mirasano, popularly known as Kenny, who specialises in traditional music.

Those who advance through this round are expected to continue developing and refining their projects as the competition progresses.
