Patrick Nkulikiyimfura, the long-serving Chief Executive Officer of Akagera Aviation, has died at the age of 57.
He passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, according to a statement released by his family, which noted that the wake is being held in Kabuga.
Nkulikiyimfura was a prominent figure in the country’s aviation sector, having led Akagera Aviation for several years. Prior to his appointment, he served as Chief Operations Officer at RwandAir.
In a tribute, Akagera Aviation described him as a visionary and principled leader who played a key role in advancing both the company and the aviation industry since 2010.
“His leadership and commitment to excellence delivered tangible impact for our company, our partners, and the wider community,” the company said in a statement.
Akagera Aviation extended condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, honoring his legacy and contribution to the aviation sector.
