Rwanda’s four representatives, APR VC, Kepler VC, Police VC and REG VC have reached the round of 16 of the African Men’s Volleyball Championship (CAVB Men’s Club Championship 2026) after strong performances in the group stage.
The knockout phase begins on April 29, 2026, with high-stakes fixtures in which all remaining teams face direct elimination.
APR VC, among the country’s leading contenders, faces a demanding path. The army side will take on Morocco’s Faith Union Sport at 8 p.m. A win would set up a potential quarter-final clash against either Egyptian giants Al Ahly, record 16-time champions of the competition, or Ghana’s Kalibi SC.
Earlier at 2 p.m., Police VC—the only Rwandan team to top its group—will face Nigeria Customs Service, a side that previously tested APR VC in the group stage.
Should Police VC progress, they could meet the winner between Kepler VC and Kenya’s General Service Unit in the quarter-finals, opening the possibility of an all-Rwandan encounter at the last-eight stage.
At midday, REG VC will take on Uganda’s Sport-S. A victory would see them advance to face either Nemo Stars (Uganda) or Kenya Sports VC in the next round.
All round-of-16 matches will be played on the same day, with winners progressing to the quarter-finals and losers being eliminated from the tournament.
