The Gasabo Primary Court has postponed the bail hearing of Niyigaba Clement, widely known as DC Clement, after his defence lawyer requested additional time to review the case file.
The hearing, initially scheduled for Monday, April 20, 2026, was adjourned after the defence informed the court that it was not adequately prepared to proceed.
The case has been rescheduled for April 27, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
DC Clement faces five charges, including malicious damage to property, inciting public disorder, resisting lawful authority, insulting public officials and public servants, and assaulting or using violence against public officials.
He was arrested on March 31, 2026, and has since been held in custody at Jabana Police Station under the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB).
