President Paul Kagame has commended European football clubs partnered with Rwanda through the Visit Rwanda campaign for progressing to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
In a message posted on X, Kagame described it as a proud moment to see three Visit Rwanda partner clubs—Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid—reach the last four of Europe’s premier club competition.
“The performances of these teams have shown resilience, skill and progress. We look forward to the upcoming matches,” he said.
The trio secured their semi-final places after eliminating their respective opponents in the quarter-finals, underlining the growing global visibility of Rwanda’s tourism brand through high-profile football partnerships.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich—which also collaborates with Rwanda through a youth football development initiative—advanced to the semi-finals after knocking out Real Madrid.
The first-leg semi-final matches are scheduled for April 28 and 29, with return legs set for May 5 and 6, 2026.
Proud to see three #VisitRwanda partners qualifying for the UEFA Champions League semi-finals! The performances of @Atleti, @Arsenal and @PSG_inside have shown consistency, excellence and resolve, and we look forward to the games ahead!
