Muhazi United has reassured its supporters after the club was denied a licence to compete in the Rwanda second division during the 2026-27 season.
The club, which is associated with Rwamagana and Kayonza districts, issued a message on social media saying its management was working to find a solution to the licensing dispute.
“The management of Muhazi United FC would like to inform its supporters that it is seeking a solution to the issue of not being granted a licence to compete in the second division championship for the 2026-27 season,” the club said.
Muhazi United is among four clubs that were denied licences by the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) to participate in the second division after failing to submit stadium agreements for the venues where they would host their home matches.
The other clubs affected are Unity FC, Motar FC and Addax SC.
Following the decision, the four clubs appealed and subsequently submitted stadium agreements as required. However, their appeals were rejected by FERWAFA’s Club Licensing Committee.
The decision means the Rwanda second division is currently set to have 16 teams instead of the 20 that have traditionally competed in the league.
The four clubs were also absent from the list of teams invited by FERWAFA to a meeting scheduled for October 3, 2026, to prepare for the new second-division season.
All four clubs maintain that they were unfairly treated and are still awaiting a final decision on their appeals.
Muhazi United has therefore asked its supporters to remain patient as the club continues to seek a resolution that could allow it to participate in the upcoming season.
