Rayon Sports have signed Central African winger Boris Gbenou as the club continues an aggressive recruitment drive ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Blues announced the arrival of the 22-year-old on Sunday through their official social media platforms. Gbenou joins the club as a free agent and is expected to strengthen the team’s attacking options on the wings.

The forward previously represented the Central African Republic at the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, where he featured for his country’s youth national team.

Gbenou becomes Rayon Sports’ 12th signing of the current transfer window and the sixth foreign player recruited this summer, following the arrivals of Matumona Kanda Abbel, Charles Tchouplau, Antonio Atisso Kodjo, Ibrahim Djingarey and Djiguiba Issa.

The club has also strengthened its local contingent by signing Ndayishimiye Didier, Nshuti Didier, Nisingizwe Christian, Nkundimana Fabio, Nizeyimana Moubarak and Muhoza Daniel.

In addition, defenders Nshimiyimana Emmanuel “Kabange” and Ganijuru Elie Ishimwe have renewed their contracts to remain at the club.

Rayon Sports are currently in a pre-season training camp in Gicumbi as they prepare for Rayon Day on July 18, when they will host Kenyan champions Gor Mahia, before competing in the CECAFA Kagame Cup, which will be held in Rwanda from July 24 to August 8.

As part of their preparations, Rayon Sports’ senior team defeated the club’s U-20 side 7-1 in a friendly match on Sunday. Muhoza Daniel scored a hat-trick, Ndayishimiye Didier netted twice, while Nizeyimana Moubarak and Uwimana Ami each added a goal.
