On Friday evening, the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) presented four cows to the Ubutwari Artists Group, fulfilling a pledge previously made by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen MK Mubarakh.
The donation was made in recognition of the group’s contribution to promoting patriotism and national values through its “Ubutwari Concert” series, which uses traditional music performances to inspire courage, unity, and resilience among Rwandans.
The handover ceremony took place at Kigali Infants School in Rusororo Sector, Gasabo District. It was officiated by Col Désiré Migambi Mungamba, who oversees civil-military cooperation within RDF and represented the Chief of Defence Staff.
Ubutwari Artists Group, led by Maria Yohani and including artists such as Muryango, is known for its cultural performances that celebrate Rwanda’s heritage while reinforcing messages of national cohesion and shared responsibility.
RDF officials commended the group for using the arts as a platform to advance values of patriotism and strengthen social unity, particularly among young audiences.
