Rwandan social media personality Mbabazi Shadia, popularly known as Shaddyboo, has urged people to stop repeatedly contacting her to ask how she is doing, saying she needs space to rebuild her life and focus on her personal growth.

In a message shared on Instagram, Shaddyboo said she was reclaiming her strength, peace and independence while embracing a new chapter in her life.

She expressed frustration with people who keep calling or messaging her out of concern about the changes they have noticed, arguing that their concern should not come at the expense of her privacy and personal choices.

“You cannot destroy someone’s peace and then keep coming back to ask if they are okay. Sometimes, people need to be left alone so they can heal, grow and become new versions of themselves,” she wrote.

Shaddyboo said she was moving away from the lifestyle people had grown accustomed to seeing her lead, choosing instead to focus on spirituality, history, knowledge and building things of value.

She urged people not to pressure her into returning to her previous way of life, insisting that she had the right to make different choices and pursue a new purpose.

The mother of two daughters also reflected on the need to distinguish between people’s physical connections and their individual emotional and spiritual journeys.

“We may share one body, but our minds, spirits and souls can travel different paths. The body is merely a vessel, while the soul is a world of its own. Never confuse the two,” she said.

She added that she was taking back the time and energy she had given to others, whether consciously or unconsciously, and letting go of things that no longer served her.

“What is not mine, I release. What belongs to others, I return to them,” she wrote.

Shaddyboo concluded by reaffirming her determination to protect her peace and direct her energy towards her future.

“I am whole. I am free. I am myself again,” she said.
