The family of veteran Rwandan singer Suzanne Nyiranyamibwa has announced plans for her funeral, beginning with a vigil at her home in Remera on Friday, October 23, 2026.
Nyiranyamibwa died on Friday, October 16, 2026, in Belgium, where she had travelled for medical treatment.
Her family said the farewell ceremony and burial will take place on Saturday, October 24, at Rusororo Cemetery.
The veteran singer died at the age of 83. She was widely known for songs including “Ese Mbaze Nde?”, “Ndavunyisha”, “Nkumbuye iwacu” and “Nimuberwe bakobwa”, among others.
