Rwandan security forces in Cabo Delgado join community in public sports exercise

Rwandan Security Forces (RSF) deployed in Cabo Delgado Province, northern Mozambique, on December 21, 2025, took part in a public sports exercise alongside local residents and grassroots leaders.

According to the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), the activity was organized by the authorities of Mocímboa da Praia Municipality with the aim of strengthening unity and cooperation between state institutions and the community.

It also provided an opportunity to appreciate the improved security situation and to highlight the role of sports in promoting healthy living.

After the exercise, local leaders addressed participants, emphasizing the importance and objectives of such initiatives in fostering positive collaboration and improving community wellbeing.

Speaking on behalf of the Rwandan security forces, ACP Bertin Mutezintare assured residents of continued cooperation in matters of security.

He stressed the importance of working closely with the community in public activities and expressed a desire to expand similar public sports initiatives across the entire province.

The Mayor of Mocímboa da Praia, Helena Bandeila, commended both the Rwandan and Mozambican security forces for their contribution to maintaining peace and security in Cabo Delgado Province.

She also encouraged local leaders to mobilize residents to regularly participate in weekly public sports activities, noting that consistent physical exercise is vital for maintaining good health.
