The Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has called on the public to exercise responsibility and refrain from actions or behavior that may lead to criminal activity or endanger the lives of others during the end-of-year festive period.

In a statement shared on its official social media platforms, RIB issued the appeal as Rwandans marked Christmas Day on December 25, 2025, a significant celebration for Christians.

The Bureau noted that as the year draws to a close, many people across the country engage in festivities, which require heightened vigilance to maintain safety and public order.

To ensure that the celebrations are enjoyed in a safe and peaceful manner, RIB urged citizens to avoid conduct that could compromise security or disrupt public tranquility.

“In this festive season, RIB calls upon all residents to refrain from behavior that may result in criminal acts, endanger their own lives and those of others, or disturb public peace,” the statement read.

RIB specifically cautioned against excessive alcohol consumption, violence, including fighting, assault and causing bodily harm, along with theft, abuse, providing alcohol to minors, and other acts that violate the law.

The Bureau also warned the public to remain alert to fraud and scam attempts, particularly phone calls in which individuals are asked to dial certain numbers under the pretext of receiving assistance, with the intent of stealing money.

RIB advised anyone who encounters a security-related problem to promptly report to the nearest RIB station so that timely assistance can be provided.
