Veteran Rwandan actor Irunga Longin, popularly known by his screen name Tukowote, has announced his engagement to his longtime partner, with the couple planning to hold their wedding before the end of 2026.
The celebrated film actor shared the news on Friday, February 6, 2026, through his Instagram account, where he posted several photos with his fiancée.
He did not disclose her identity, noting that February is a month dedicated to love.
“February is the month of love, a time when saying yes carries deeper meaning and strength,” he wrote.
Born on June 5, 1972, Tukowote is among Rwanda’s most respected figures in the local film industry.
He rose to prominence in 2008 and has since appeared in a number of popular productions, including Bamenya, The Bishop’s Family, Isi Dutuye, Kaliza wa Kalisa, and Ejo si Kera, among others.
While he chose to keep details about his fiancée private, Tukowote confirmed that wedding preparations are already underway, adding that the couple expects to formalize their union by December 2026.
