President Paul Kagame on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, received a delegation of international education leaders visiting Rwanda for the upcoming Global Learning Conference 2026.
The conference, scheduled for February 19–20 at Kigali Convention Center, will bring together global policymakers, technology experts, investors, and education leaders to explore the future of learning, innovations in teaching, and solutions to pressing environmental and technological challenges.
Among the delegation were Prof. Subra Suresh, founder and President of the Global Learning Council, Michelle Gyles-McDonnough, Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Dr. Lee Howell, Executive Director of the Villars Institute, and Dr. Gururaj Deshpande, co-founder of the Deshpande Foundation.
Ahead of the conference, President Kagame met the leaders to discuss education innovation and collaboration opportunities in Rwanda.
The conference will also feature student competitions, including an AI Hackathon for software development and a Robotics challenge, giving young innovators a platform to showcase their skills.
