Sheikh Dr. Muhammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and head of the Council of Islamic Scholars, arrived in Rwanda on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, for a three-day official visit.

He was welcomed at Kigali International Airport by Minister of Local Government Hon. Habimana Dominique and Rwanda’s Mufti, Sheikh Sindayigaya Musa.

The visit coincides with the start of the holy month of Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer, and charitable acts for Muslims worldwide.

Mufti Sheikh Sindayigaya Musa wished all Muslims a blessed Ramadan, emphasizing it as a time to seek closeness to God and serve the community through acts of kindness, including helping the needy and visiting the sick.

Fasting during Ramadan is a divine obligation for all Muslims and one of the five pillars of Islam, requiring abstention from food, drink, and sexual activity from dawn to sunset for 29 or 30 days.
