Rwanda is hosting the 4th East African Community (EAC) Science, Technology, and Innovation Conference, exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can drive economic growth and development across the region.
The two-day conference, held from March 30 to April 1, 2026, is organized by the EAC Science and Technology Commission (EASTECO) in partnership with the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA). Its theme, “Leveraging AI for a Strong, Inclusive, and Innovative East Africa,” highlights AI’s role as a catalyst for sustainable development.
Attended by policymakers, researchers, innovators, and private sector leaders, the conference will focus on AI infrastructure, governance, and regional adoption. Sessions include innovation exhibitions, high-level dialogues, and youth and women entrepreneurship competitions.
