Rwandan entertainment journalist Rugemana Amena, widely known as “Babu Rwanda,” has announced his departure from The Choice Live, ending a four-year run on one of the country’s popular entertainment talk shows.

His exit was confirmed on May 1, 2026, following earlier reports that surfaced the previous evening. Babu Rwanda shared the news through a public statement, expressing appreciation for his journey on the platform and the people he worked with.

“After four profound years on The Choice Live (Isibo TV), I depart with a heart full of gratitude—thank you to our viewers and the entire team, and to PhilPeter for your defining belief in me; I remain deeply indebted. Today, my next chapter unfolds,” he said.

The Choice Live, which airs on YouTube and Isibo TV, has built a strong following for its in-depth coverage of Rwanda’s entertainment industry, often hosting prominent figures and tackling trending topics.

Babu Rwanda joined the show in 2022, taking over from DC Clement, who had earlier replaced Iradukunda Moses. During his tenure, he became one of the recognizable faces of the program, contributing to its growing audience.

His departure comes as he shifts focus to his own media platform, Rua News, where he is expected to continue his work in entertainment journalism.

While he has not disclosed specific details about his next projects, his statement suggests a transition toward new opportunities within the media space.
