Rwanda and Côte d’Ivoire have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across key strategic sectors, including trade, diplomacy, security, and aviation, during high-level talks held in Kigali.

Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva received his Ivorian counterpart, Robert Beugré Mambé, for discussions focused on strengthening existing partnerships and expanding areas of mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Robert Beugré Mambé is in Rwanda to attend the Africa CEO Forum 2026 taking place in Kigali, a major continental gathering of political and business leaders aimed at advancing Africa’s economic transformation and investment agenda.

According to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister issued on May 15, the talks underscored the importance of consolidating cooperation in priority sectors to support shared development goals.

Both sides highlighted the strong and growing relations between Rwanda and Côte d’Ivoire, which are anchored in collaboration in economic development, diplomacy, security cooperation, and air transport.

The two countries also reiterated their shared commitment to advancing Africa’s integration agenda through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which seeks to boost intra-African trade and economic connectivity.

Prime Minister Nsengiyumva previously visited Côte d’Ivoire in late 2025, where he attended the inauguration ceremony of President Alassane Ouattara, reflecting sustained high-level engagement between Kigali and Abidjan.
